Lisa Romano-Dwyer is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist in the beaches Toronto. She is a specialist in adult, youth, and child mental health, wellness, and education.

Lisa’s Master of Social Work Degree was conferred in 1993, an undergraduate degree in Psychology in 1989 both at UofT and fully funded by academic scholarships including the Terry Fox Humanitarian Award for outstanding voluntary service.

Lisa’s Doctoral Degree in Culture, Language and Learning conferred in 2013 confirmed the importance of relationship in meaningful change and academic engagement. Lisa’s research enhanced her clinical skills and practices. Lisa’s doctoral studies and research projects were funded by scholarship awards including the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship, and the Michael Smith Foreign Study Abroad Award.

Lisa has worked as Chief Social Worker, Child and Family Therapist, Community, Hospital, & School Social Worker, School Board Trustee 1997-2000, Lead Researcher, Keynote Speaker, Leadership & Wellness Coach, and Project Coordinator.

In the fall of 2022, Lisa taught Essentials to Social Work Practices and Skills Lab at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work program in the University of Toronto’s Master of Social Work program. She continues to teach in the Mental Health and Addiction, Community Development, and Criminal Justice Applied Degree and Social Service Worker programs at Humber College, Lakeshore campus.

Lisa is excited about her contributions to the clinical repertoire of new social workers and social service workers planning to serve in Ontario and abroad by providing excellent mental health and wellness care in all social work sectors.

Lisa owns a private practice where she provides Mental Health Treatment and Counselling Services. She also provides independent mental health services for Homewood Health Employee & Family Assistance Program, as well as Specialized Depression Care; Trauma Care; & Stay At Work Outpatient Treatment programs.

Lisa has advanced training in Complex Informed Trauma Therapy. She has provided clinical supervision support to victims of human trafficking. Her clinical team developed enhanced mental health training webinars for professional social workers through Ontario Association of Social Workers, Learning Centre, which will available virtually for the next 5 years.
